PATRON: HIS GRACE THE DUKE OF BEAUFORT PRESIDENT: Dr WILLIE CARSON, O.B.E.
Doreen Roberts, our late Founder, who gave a
lifelong practical interpretation of the advice often given but
frequently ignored.
"Manage the condition; don’t let the
condition manage you!
The Trustees continue to reward outstanding effort on behalf of our volunteers by presenting them with a certificate bearing our Founder’s name and signed by the Chairman and two other Trustees.
Doreen Roberts Award 2011
The Trustees were more than delighted to agree that this year’s award should be presented to Patrick O’Mahoney. Patrick suffers with a chronic lung condition but he has worked tirelessly for the Chest Fund for over 4 years and he regularly attends the store collections at ASDA in Gloucester as well as assisting with car parking at the Rikenel. Patrick also sells a considerable number of Christmas Draw tickets each year. Unfortunately, due to ill health, Patrick was not able to attend the award presentation but John Rush, a good friend and ‘chauffeur ‘ for Patrick, accepted the award certificate on his behalf, from Bernard Cooper, our Chairman.
Doreen Roberts Award 2010
2010 saw three volunteers produce such dedicated service that the
Trustees felt unable to separate them for the award.

Bernard Cooper, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, was delighted to
present 3 certificates for 2010. From the left: Carol Dowling, Pat
Dowling Bernard Cooper and Gill Ford.
During the year, Carol, Gill and Pat had staffed 21 fundraising
collections raised in excess of £3,000

Mrs. Hilary Howe seen receiving the award from Dr. Ananthakrishnam
Raghuram

Hilary Howe is a ‘long time supporter’ of the Gloucestershire Chest
Fund. She is rarely missing from Car Park and Supermarket
collections, services a collecting box in a Stroud Convenience
store. She also sells more than her share of draw tickets and often
donates prizes herself. Dr. Raghuram, Trustee of the Gloucestershire
Chest Fund was delighted to present the award.
Doreen Roberts Award 2008
Mrs. Julia Wintle, though far from well herself, has for many years
done her best for the Gloucestershire Chest Fund. Julia, ably helped
by her daughter, has run several very successful coffee mornings,
made and sold craft items and made beautiful Christmas cards for
resale.

Dr. Roy Lamb, one of the longest serving Trustees was pleased to
make the presentation.
