Skittles Match - The Annual Sponsored Skittles match between the Rising Sun at Hartpury and the Gloucestershire Chest Fund will take place on Tuesday 11th August 2009 commencing at 7.30 pm at the Rising Sun. This is a most enjoyable evening. Why not come along, have a drink( and a meal if you wish) and enjoy the evening.

Saturday 5th September 2009. Rikenel car park collection - 8 volunteers needed!

Sunday 6th September 2009. The Cirencester Charity Run. At least one team, including one of our Trustees, will run 10k for the Gloucestershire Chest Fund. No work to be done but how about supporting Bernard Cooper with a donation or just come along for a good day out in Cirencester Park.

27th September - Two members of Jo Astbury's family are competing in a triathlon to raise money for the Chest Fund.  Any support for sponsorship will be gratefully received.

Saturday 14th November - ''Awareness Day' at the Beechwood Shopping Centre, Cheltenham will be hosted by Heather Astbury.

Highlights

Charlie and Steph McKeever have now given up the pub but they are still active supporters of our cause. They, assisted by the two children, ran the store collection at Stow-on-the-Wold and raised £362.65.

Volunteers staffed the car park at Rikenel Health Centre on Saturday 10th. May 2008 and raised £224.00.

Simon Smith ran the Tewkesbury Half Marathon in 1 hour 36 minutes in spite of excessive heat and little trouble with his hip. He raised £350.00 bringing his total contribution for 6 races to a little under £2,000.

Any more willing athletes out there? You can enjoy your sport and help others at the same time.

The Upstagers is an amateur dramatic group based in Upton-St- Leonards, Gloucester. Their productions are usually performed in the Upton-St-Leonards Village Hall. They are to enter two one act plays into a National Competition in two weeks time but decided to try the plays out on the ‘paying public’ first with all proceeds going to the Gloucestershire Chest Fund. The ‘tryout was held on Wednesday 21st. May and the Chest Fund was represented by Benard Cooper and Fiona Miles. The ‘Upstagers raised £400.
